Working with a variety of students has shown me one very important thing: The power is theirs!  I have watched students who refused to make eye contact, grow to take time out of their day for a hug or for a high five before moving to their next class.  Breakthroughs are the greatest joy of teaching! 

My teaching philosophy is one of collaboration.  I want my students to feel safe and know their opinions, points of view and goals are valid and an important part of the educational journey we are on together.
